Mancunian Cup
[by Joost Bakker] Saturday September 21 was a glorious, sun-bathed day, cricket fun ripe for the taking. This year's Mancunian Cup counted a total of six teams, each consisting of 9 players, or more than 50 players battling it out. Team lineups were engineered such that they contained representatives of each of the senior teams (ACC 1–5, Zami 1 &2, Zomi) as well as at least one youth player, with the stated goal of getting to know one's club mates better.
Having one field at our disposal, two groups of three teams played amongs each other. The outcome of the groups fed into a unlucky-losers final between the numbers 3, (cross-) semi finals between the numbers 1 and 2, and a final between the teams of Girish Gauchan and Stephan Hannema. To the former's chagrin, he will depart Amsterdam for his next professional chapter in Dubai (he will sorely be missed!) without a Mancunian Cup win under his belt, because Stephan's team beat his by 65 – 61 in the Final.
The winning team, clearly a true cross-section of the club:
Chris Knoll - ACC 1
Arnav Misra - ACC 2
Axaya Kansal - ACC 4
Wim Pielage - Zomi 1
Neelesh Singhal - Zami 1
Stephan Hannema - Zami 2
Antoni Janssen - ACC Vet
Daniyal Adnan - U15
Tibo Balk - U17
Cricket Achievement Pins
As every year, ACC celebrates outstanding individual achievements of its members. ALthough the relegation of several teams cannot be eased by it, also this year saw fine individual achievements of our members. Although we honor all achievements here, only those members attending the award ceremony were handed over the ACC pins.

Tail of the season: Test match VRA – ACC
By now a solid tradition: the test match between the Zomi team of ACC and one of the Zami teams of VRA. Captain Ezzat Muhseni and his squad are ready, but will the weather be? In case you see a spot of blue in between the predicted rain showers, do take the time to peek in at the old ACC main field in 't Amsterdamse Bos (VRA field 2) and give them your support.
