[by Taku Kusano] Hello Members of ACC, I would like to start by thanking everyone who has supported me since my arrival at ACC in 2015. A special mention has to go to those, who recently supported in sponsoring me to attend the Global Level 3 Coach International Cricket Council in Dubai.
I am truly grateful and appreciative to all those members who helped me whether it was a big donation or a small donation it all went a long way. I feel humbled by your generosity and kindness. A total of €1630 was raised and it all went towards payment for the level 3 course.
The experience in Dubai was life changing as a course, the knowledge and networks I acquired will stay with me throughout the rest of my coaching days. The course was a 6 day intensive learning experience where the main focus was on:
1. The Athlete, the player, the cricketer, the most IMPORTANT asset in all clubs or companies, PEOPLE!
"You can take my factories, burn up my buildings, but give me my people and I'll build the business right back again."
Henry Ford
2. Creating the right environment for the athlete, the player, the cricketer to grow and flourish. Creating a professional, high performance environment that puts the athlete first at all times and ensures that everyone involved pulls and works towards a common goal of success.
"Individual commitment to a group effort, that is what makes a team work, a company work, society work, a civilization work."
Vincent Lombardi
3. Ensuring that hard-work and practice are at the forefront of everything the club or company are trying to achieve. There is no substitute for hard work and practice, practice and more practice. The "right practice" I should emphasize is fundamental to achieving success.
"There is no substitute for hard work"
Thomas Edison
What they taught us were simple, yet very difficult guidelines to achieving success. There was a lot of practical work but less teachings about actual cricket. The philosophy and psychology about people and how to communicate effectively were the true teachings on offer.
I am so excited to share these experiences and to grow together with you as ACC members. I hope that we can create our own environment and models of success that will help us all achieve our goals and ambitions. I am currently working on a program for the club as a whole and a long-term plan for the future of ACC.
Lastly I would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas, a happy festive period and prosperous New Year!
Sincerely,
Taku Kusano
